This Privacy Policy describes how DuoFinance (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) handles your information. By using DuoFinance, you agree to the practices described below.
All financial data in DuoFinance is manually entered by you. The app does not import, sync, or pull data from any outside source.
DuoFinance does not connect to any bank, credit union, or financial institution. There are no open-banking links, no account aggregation, no Plaid or similar connections, and no access to live financial accounts. Everything you see in the app is data you typed in yourself.
DuoFinance does not process payments. There is no checkout, no in-app purchase, no billing flow, and no real card transactions. Recording a “purchase” or “payment” in the app only updates your manual tracking balances — no money ever moves.
DuoFinance never asks for, and does not store, full credit card numbers. Credit cards in the app are a manual tracking tool: you provide a label, an issuer, and optional fake “last four” digits for your own reference. No real card numbers, CVVs, or expiration dates are collected or stored.
DuoFinance is a manual household budgeting app and does not request or use any protected device resources. The app does not access your camera, microphone, photo library, location, contacts, calendars, Bluetooth, Health data, speech recognition, motion or fitness sensors, media library, or App Tracking Transparency. It does not use Face ID or any other biometric sensor. DuoFinance does not include any purpose strings for these resources because it does not use them.
Your data is stored securely and is scoped to your household. Access is enforced by row-level security tied to your account and household, so members of one household cannot see another household’s data. Within a household, entries are visible to both members — DuoFinance is built for two people budgeting together, and it does not currently hide any entry from your partner.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. DuoFinance does not show third-party advertising and does not share your data for cross-context advertising or tracking.
We share data only as needed to operate the app (for example, hosting and authentication providers), and only as required by law. Your financial entries are visible only to the members of your own household.
You can delete your account and household data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). The household owner can permanently delete the household and all of its shared financial data; a secondary member can leave the household without affecting the owner’s data.
DuoFinance is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
